Zidane to take over should Real lose tonight

24th May 2014 by chriso

Reports in Italy claim that should Carlo Ancelotti lose the Champions League Final, Zinedine Zidane will be named as the new coach of Real Madrid. Stories had been circulating in recent weeks suggesting Zidane did not have enough experience to take charge at the Bernabeu. But Milan-based daily, Gazzetta Dello Sport say this is not the case, with the final tomorrow deciding his future. This seems quite harsh on Ancelotti ( He did win the Copa Del Rey ) but then the obstacle standing in Real,s way are noisy neighbours and recently crowned La Liga champions Atletico Madrid. … [Read more...]

Fabio Coentrao Agrees Manchester United Terms

7th January 2014 by nickh

Confusion reigns over the future of Real Madrid left back Fabio Coentrao. Reports from the North West of England suggest that Coentrao has agreed personal terms to join Manchester United but Carlo Ancelotti is unwilling to let his versatile defender leave. Coentrao has been a peripheral figure at the Bernabeu, injuries have hampered his progress this season and he has made just a handful of La Liga appearances. His frustration has been evident as he accused Madrid fans of being against him since he signed and practically begged for a transfer. Chelsea and Inter Milan have also been linked … [Read more...]

Di Maria’s Groin Grab Controversy

7th January 2014 by nickh

Carlo Ancelotti took the time honoured escape route when asked about Angel di Maria's gesture to the Real Madrid fans last night by claiming that he hadn't seen it. Speaking in the press conference following Madrid's unconvincing 3-0 victory at home to Celta Vigo, Ancelotti said: “I have not seen the gesture. I shook his hand and then I don't know what he did. It is news to me if he responded to the crowd and it is a mistake if he has – but life goes on." Ancelotti may have had the temporary blindness that so many managers seem to suffer from but I did see the gesture and it could land Di … [Read more...]

Ancelotti not right for Los Blancos claims ex Madrid president

26th November 2013 by chriso

Is Carlo Ancelotti the right man to lead Los Blancos? Not according to Ramon Calderon. "It seems to me that Ancelotti does not have the personality and charisma to lead Real Madrid" said the ex-CEO earlier this month. He went on to attack their style of play under Ancelotti saying it wasn’t 'defined' or 'organized' and that they 'concede too many goals'. In Calderon’s eyes, the hiring of Ancelotti was a mistake. … [Read more...]

Bale signing creates Ancelotti dilemma

10th September 2013 by andym

Following months of speculation and negotiations, Real Madrid finally got their man on Sunday evening as Gareth Bale completed his world record move from Tottenham. On current form, the Welshman is arguably the most dangerous player in the world when running at pace and will certainly add an extra dimension to a team who already love to hit their opponents on the counter-attack. … [Read more...]

Real Madrid’s Bale Conundrum

15th August 2013 by andym

On the surface, there would appear to be little wrong in Madrid. The club, fresh from a 3-1 win against Chelsea in the final of the Guinness International Champions Cup, are preparing for a new Welsh-inspired era of dominance. That will cost the princely sum of £105m. Oh, and they have Cristiano Ronaldo and Champions League-winning coach Carlo Ancelotti. So a new season for Real Madrid and what might it hold? … [Read more...]

Transfer Latest: Have Real Madrid pulled the plug on Gareth Bale?

14th August 2013 by andym

Gareth Bale to Real Madrid; a transfer saga that was once so talked about that even your neighbour's cat would have formed an opinion on whether the Welshman will go the Bernabeu or not. Yet here we are, smack bang in the middle of August and all looks very quiet on the Castillian front, perhaps a little too quiet one may hasten to add. … [Read more...]
