Former Barcelona attacker Ronaldinho has gone on to congratulate Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo after he collected the prestigious Ballon d’Or award.
Cristiano Ronaldo enjoyed a fantastic time in 2016, where he helped Real Madrid claim the Champions League title and then led the Portuguese national team to victory in the 2016 European Championships in France.
As recognition of his wonderful achievements, Ronaldo was recently awarded the prestigious Ballon d’Or award after winning a majority of votes among football journalists and it has to be said that the Portuguese attacker more than deserves the honour.
The victory means that Ronaldo now has a whopping four Ballon d’Or awards to his name and is currently only one behind Barcelona rival Lionel Messi.
Many fans associated with Barcelona would surely not have been pleased with Ronaldo claiming the title as ‘the best footballer of the year’ but club legend Ronaldinho has gone on to send a congratulatory message to the 31-year-old on social media.
The 36-year-old wrote via his official Twitter account, “Congratulations my friend @cristiano, more than deserved. Great achievements with club and the national team in recent years are the way to your success!”
