Fabio Coentrao Agrees Manchester United Terms

7th January 2014 by nickh

coentraoConfusion reigns over the future of Real Madrid left back Fabio Coentrao. Reports from the North West of England suggest that Coentrao has agreed personal terms to join Manchester United but Carlo Ancelotti is unwilling to let his versatile defender leave.

Coentrao has been a peripheral figure at the Bernabeu, injuries have hampered his progress this season and he has made just a handful of La Liga appearances. His frustration has been evident as he accused Madrid fans of being against him since he signed and practically begged for a transfer.

Chelsea and Inter Milan have also been linked with Coentrao but it seems that the struggling Premier League champions have stolen a march on their rivals. Patrice Evra has been sorely out of form at Old Trafford this season and many believe it is time that Moyes found a top quality replacement. Leighton Baines and Luke Shaw had been linked but Moyes feels that Coentrao has both youth (at 25 he is four years younger than Baines and seven years older than Shaw) and top quality experience in his favour.

Manchester United are desperate to sign Coentrao and he is desperate to sign for them, but will it happen? Ancelotti has insisted once more that Fabio will not be allowed to go: “There is nothing new to talk about. No player is leaving.”

Players forcing their way out of Real Madrid rather than into Real Madrid? It seems to me that the talented Portuguese full back has made his last appearance in the all white.  The news will be on www.laligablog.com first so watch this space!

Yes, he is very versatile and would be a good signing for Moyes but will Ancelotti let him leave? We shall see.

man u need to buy 2 midfielders, a left back and center if you are to fight for honours this season. the top spot may seem to be very far but remember the season when Newcastle was 11 points clear of man united.what man u need right now is a midfieder who can maintain Anderson’s tempo 2 minutes into the game.
