Which teams might face relegation worries in La Liga next season?

29th July 2019 by andym

As the new La Liga season draws ever closer, the fans of Spanish football will begin to get very excited. Let’s just hope that the 2019/20 season is as thrilling as the last one! With Barcelona easing to a fairly comfortable win in the end, rivals Atletico and Real will be looking to strike back.

While a lot of attention focuses on who might win La Liga, it is also worth looking at which teams may be fighting it out at the wrong end table of the table. Of course, once that is done you will need something else to do as you wait for the new season to begin. Playing online casino games is a great idea as it will pass the time in a fun way. Now you can even enjoy amazing slot games – play with Bitcoins!

When you are ready to see what is happening in football again, it is certainly worth looking at which teams may struggle in next season’s La Liga.

Granada

As with every league in world football, it is the newly promoted teams who may be in most danger. This time around that is Osasuna, RCD Mallorca and Granada. While many fancy Osasuna and RCD Mallorca to have enough to survive, it is not as pretty a picture for Granada. Although they finished second behind Osasuna last term, playing in the top tier could be too much for an organised but limited side. Manager Diego Martinez will need to show he can step up to the plate and recruit well over the summer if they are to stand any chance.

Celta Vigo

Celta Vigo were poor last year, finishing in 17th place on only 41 points. This leaves them in the danger zone as one team who could face an uphill battle again next year. A big blow to their hopes is the loss of star striker Maxi Gomez to Valencia and also the interest of Bayern Munich in Brais Mendez. Although Denis Suarez has come into the squad, it may not be enough for them to do what is needed to survive.

Real Valladolid

Another Spanish side who had a very poor 2018/19 was Real Valladolid. Finishing just above the relegation places in 16th, they may be on for another hard campaign this coming year. While they have been somewhat active in the transfer market with Sandro Ramirez joining on loan and Eibar winger Pablo Hervias arriving, it may not be enough quality to make a much better go of it when the new season begins. Goals were the major problem last year so hopefully this can be fixed over the summer months.

La Liga 2019/20 looks set to be a cracker

One thing is for sure – whoever ends up battling it out in the relegation places, it will be an emotional ride. As with everything in football, it is impossible to make guaranteed predictions, but the above sides look most at risk right now. We will see how events unfold once the season gets underway!
