Las Palmas vs Barcelona: Preview, Predicted Lineups and Prediction

18th February 2016 by sarads

Las Palmas Stadium

Venue: Estadio de Gran Canaria, Las Palmas

Date: 20/02/2016

Kick-off: 03:00 PM GMT / 10:00 AM EST

Match

Las Palmas News

Las Palmas looked liked they would be able to comfortably avoid relegation this season following a positive start in La Liga but a run of four defeats in their last five matches has seen Quique Setien’s men slip into the drop zone.

Now Las Palmas need a victory from somewhere in order to be able to get themselves out of the dreaded relegation places but with a clash against the rampant Barcelona up next, Los Amarillos will need to put in a herculean effort to claim anything on from the fixture on Saturday.

Injury Doubts: David Simon, Javi Castellano, Angel Montoro, Dani Castellano, Hernan, Mubarak Wakaso (Suspended)

Las Palmas Probable Lineup: Varas; Garrido, Aythami, Garcia, Bigas; El Zhar, Tana, Mesa, Jonathan, Nili; Willian

Barcelona News

Barcelona managed to finally create a sizeable six point lead at the top of the table after claiming a comfortable 3-1 victory over Sporting Gijon in their game in hand on Wednesday night.

Currently Barcelona look odds on to defend their title but things can change around quickly with a single poor result and Luis Enrique will surely be urging his players to claim their eighth consecutive victory in La Liga by seeing off relegation candidate Las Palmas this weekend.

Injury Doubts: Rafinha

Barcelona Probable Lineup: Bravo; Mathieu, Pique, Vermaelen, Vidal; Roberto, Rakitic, Turan; Messi, Suarez, Neymar

Prediction

Las Palmas have never claimed a victory over Barcelona and given the Catalan giants’ terrifying run of results, the record is unlikely to be changing this weekend.

Barcelona are the clear favourites heading into the clash and it will be a huge shock if the champions fail to claim a comfortable three points from the game.

Las Palmas 0 – 3 Barcelona
