Brazilian legend Ronaldinho has stated his belief that Liverpool attacking midfielder Roberto Firmino is as good as the trio of Mesut Ozil, David Silva and Andres Iniesta.
Roberto Firmino endured a slow start to life at Liverpool since his £29million move from Hoffenheim over the summer but the 24-year old has found his feet at Anfield in recent weeks and has scored a respectable 5 goals in 20 Premier League appearances so far.
Slowly but surely, Firmino is becoming an integral part of the Liverpool side and the attacking midfielder is sure to have a crucial role to play if indeed Liverpool are to claim a place in the top four this season.
While Firmino has only started showing his qualities to fans in England in recent times, the legendary Ronaldinho has been aware of the Brazilian international’s ability as a player for a while now and has gone on to place the 24-year old in the same category as the likes of Mesut Ozil, David Silva and Andres Iniesta.
Ronaldinho told the Daily Mirror, “I didn’t ever question if he would be a great player for Liverpool, I knew that he would be. He’s one of the best at what he does in the world. He’s in the same class as Ozil, Silva, Iniesta, and all the other great players who play that role. He’s the player that I’m sure Klopp will build his new Liverpool team around.
“Klopp is one of the best coaches in the world, he will know that Liverpool need better players, he will know that Firmino will need better players around him to get the most out of his game.
“I’m sure when he joined Liverpool, Klopp was promised he could bring in his own players, and with Firmino at the centre of the team, there’s no reason Liverpool cannot challenge once again.”
