Arsenal are on the verge of securing the future of star attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil, according to reports from Football Insider.
Mesut Ozil has racked up a stunning 13 assists in the Premier League for Arsenal this season already and it would be fair to state that the German international has been the best attacking midfielder in Europe during the current campaign.
With Ozil showing such wonderful form, a host of top clubs have expressed their interest in signing the 27-year old and it was revealed that the duo of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich would be considering making a move for the Gunners’ star at the end of the season.
Arsenal understandably do not want to lose Ozil though and it was claimed that the North London side had opened talks with the midfielder over a new deal.
Now according to reports from the Football Insider, it has been revealed that Arsenal have managed to strike a whopping £51.5million five year deal with Ozil and the playmaker’s wages have been increased from £50,000-per week to a whopping £180,000-per week.
