Arsene Wenger targets Atletico’s Adrian Lopez in January transfer window as Falcao trail goes cold

30th November 2012 by andym

With Arsenal currently off the pace in pursuit of another Champion’s League spot this season, Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger plans to have another foray into the La Liga transfer market this January in a bid to turn his side’s fortunes around. Whilst Colombian star-striker Ramadel Falcao is hot property in European football at the moment, the Frenchman has his Atletico Madrid team-mate Adrian Lopez at the top of his wanted list Talksport can report. Following the shrewd acquisition of pint-sized midfielder Santi Cazorla in the summer who has already become a hit over at the Emirates this season, Wenger sees Lopez as another man who can give his attacking options a much needed boost.

Whilst much has been discussed regarding the possible move of Adrian’s highly-rated team-mate Falcao moving to the English Premier League in the winter transfer window, many clubs including Arsenal and Chelsea are now looking elsewhere for attacking talent after former Atletico forward and best friend of the Colombian striker Paulo Futre has rubbished reports that his amigo may be on his way to the EPL this winter.

‘You’re mad they’re just rumours. I’m eating dinner with him here in my house’ Futre proclaimed in response to being asked by Falcao‘s agent if there was any truth in the ongoing transfer rumours.

Buying La Liga seems to be the ‘in-thing’ in English football right now with Arsenal, Swansea and Chelsea all having success with this tried and tested acquisition strategy over the past year.

The aforementioned Cazorla has already hit the ground running in an Arsenal shirt this season and whilst Juan Mata has also impressed during his tenure at Chelsea, it is Swansea City who have boxed cleverest with Spanish duo Michu and Pablo Hernandez helping Michael Laudrup’s side continue their fine form from the second half of last season.

That will be great news for the Gunners to hear this.Arsenal now badly need of a pure striker. For this at current Falcao is the best(If possible by transfer budget). Adrian Lopez are also well for gunners team. This player will enhance the gunners attack formation and good support for attacking side.I hope at least this deal will be done by Wenger. I respect him and believe him but he need to change his squad for increase the team performance.
