Black Country Derby Ends All-Square
A late Carlos Vela goal rescued a point for West Brom in the Black Country Derby this afternoon after a stunning Jamie O'Hara strike put the visitors Wolves ahead in the first-half. The match started brightly and neither side held back as Wolves and West Brom both had chances early on. It was ex-Spurs midfielder O'Hara who broke the dead-lock however after Nenad Milijas laid off an inviting ball which was struck superbly from 30 yards out beyond the reach of Baggies keeper Boaz Myhill. Both sides continued to press deep into injury time of the first period but despite a tight first half … [Read more...]

Chelsea Manager Carlo Ancelotti has today denied any accusation that the sacking of ex-assistant manager Ray Wilkins has had a detrimental affect on his side. Thirty-seven year-old Man United winger Ryan Giggs has signed a new one-year contract extension. After playing over 20 times for his club so far this season, there is evidence suggest Giggs still has a lot to contribute to the team. "It is great to know I'm contributing to the team's success. Sparta Prague 0-0 Liverpool Highlights
Liverpool's Kenny Dalglish had to settle for a draw in his first European match in charge this evening but his side still remain well placed to progress to the Europa League last 16. The visitors Liverpool looked strong from the outset but were unable to capitalise on a myriad of possession as it was Sparta's Manuel Pamic who went closest in the first period. Glen Johnson had the best chance for Liverpool after poking a shot just wide early into the second half but Dalglish's men, without injured captain Steven Gerrard, never looked like scoring in this forgettable bore-draw tonight. They … [Read more...]
